The Pictor is the world’s first 8mm film scanner equipped with a wetgate and 2-track audio module. It’s produced by the Dutch company Filmfabriek. Filmfabriek designed this new scanner to digitize archival 8mm films. Because it profits from the same high-quality exposure solution as its bigger family member, both reversal and negative film stock can be digitized at archival quality.
The Filmfabriek Pictor can handle all 8mm and Super 8mm material, both archival and fresh films. Because it profits from the same high-quality exposure solution as its bigger family member, the HDS+ film scanner, both reversal and negative film stock can be digitized at the best quality. The Pictor is the world’s first 8mm film scanner equipped with a wetgate! Both image and magnetic striped sound will be captured with the new Filmfabriek Pictor scanner. The Pictor sound module has active wow and flutter correction. Scanning speeds are up to 25 fps. With resolutions up to 1920×1080. The machine has a price around 12500 Euro.
